If someone had told me I would like pork belly anything I would have ignored them. So the fact that I think the best sandwich I have ever had was a pork belly melt from the Devilicious Food Truck at Danza del Sol Winery in Temecula, California, is pretty shocking. Especially to me. I don’t typically eat pork and have not had pork belly since my experience at the winery and may never have it again. Except at Devilicious.
It’s clear whomever came up with this sandwich thought carefully about the combination of ingredients that come together to create such perfection: not just pork but pork belly, and not just pork belly but smoked pork belly, crispy brussels, gruyere and mozzarella cheeses, fig balsamic on butter toasted sourdough bread. Everything about this sandwich screams yum!
Devilicious has a restaurant now in Old Town, Temecula and the sandwich is on the menu. Here’s a link to their website in case you are ever in the area. I’d drive a bit just to have their pork belly melt.
