Pecans by Beer Nuts
Don’t be misled by the name of this company. It’s not just about nuts you eat with beer. Read the story about this 83-year old company here: https://beernuts.com/pages/about
The redskinned peanuts the company is well known for are delicious but I’m not really into peanuts. It’s their sweet and salty pecans that I am obsessed with. They are especially good as a topping for a hot fudge sundae with caramel sauce over vanilla ice cream. Trust me on this.
These delectable treats are made in Bloomington, Illinois just a couple hours south of where I was born in Moline, Illinois, home of another 5 Heart Rating, Whitey’s ice cream. Which is famous for, among many things, their Turtle Sundae. I can make my own homemade caramel sauce and hot fudge, combined with Beer Nuts pecans and make what I think tastes exactly like Whitey’s Turtle Sundae.
You can buy Beer Nuts from their website for $21 per 11 oz. bag. I’ve served them as a snack on their own and used them in baking as well. They are expecially good in chocolate chip cookies. Enjoy!
