I don’t often dine at chain restaurants. For a variety of reasons. But for some reason I felt I needed to eat at Eddie V’s in San Diego.

I have made crab cakes and I have eaten them in Oregon, California, Florida, and Maine. And I have never had a crab cake as good as the one at Eddie V’s near Seaport Village in San Diego. They serve one single crab cake with the the most delicate big chunks of crab. There’s a reason they call it “jumbo lump”.

This crab cake is not cheap. But it’s worth it. I wish I’d taken a pic of my crab cake. I actually think it looks way better in person than in any pics I’ve seen online.
