Dried Blueberries and Cherries from Traverse Bay

Today’s theme for 5 Heart Ratings seems to be food. This one is not as obvious as watermelon.

To say that I love cherries would be an understatement. When I was a little girl I was obsessed with the Hostess cherry pies and it was quite a treat when I got to have one. When my mom and I would take a taxi (she didn’t drive at the time) downtown to visit my dad at the fire station or just to shop (My mom LOVED to shop, me not so much. Pretty sure she was happy when she had another daughter who does.), we would stop at the Woolworth’s soda fountain to eat. She’d always have a hotdog and I would always have a piece of cherry pie.

So when I found Traverse Bay’s dried cherries in bulk, I felt I hit the jackpot. They are great to snack on and really good when baking — recently I put them in a dark and white chocolate chip cookie and they were a huge hit!

I also found Traverse Bay’s dried blueberries which I actually like more for snacking because they are not as sweet as the cherries. But equally as good!

By bulk I mean 4 lbs. You can order them each on Amazon of course. I was surprised to read the questions and reviews that asked about and commented on their shelf life and storage. Some reviews talked about being able to store them for up to a couple months or freeze them forever. I mean, who has any left after just a few weeks! I am not ashamed to say I went through almost 8 lbs of these delicious healthful snacks in a month!

If you’d like to order them here’s the link for each. Oh and by the way, the blueberries cost twice as much at Costco! These are a really good deal at around $6 per pound.
